Johnny grandson of the famous black actress Mazelle Washington and a filmmaker in his own right brings his family to Mazywood aka Bear Creek Lodge the secluded California mountain lodge she built and left behind as her legacy. In 2012 Etsy Beaucarne is told of the discovery of her great, great, great grandfather Arthurs 1912 journal pulled from a wall of a parsonage. Etsy is determined to use the journal in some way to earn tenure at her job with the university.
