TBR's & Wrap Up's

Weird Girl Horror You Need to Read

Sometimes you just need a different type of comfort read, Sometimes I need a book thats a little . . . Different.

There’s something about weird girl horror that just hits differently. Not the final girl. Not the scream queen. But the girl who is a little off, a little obsessive, a little too interested in things she probably shouldn’t be.

These are stories about girls who unravel, girls who consume (sometimes literally), girls who don’t behave the way they’re supposed to, and honestly? That’s where the horror gets good, where it gets captivating, where it gets unputdownable.

If you’re looking for horror that’s unsettling, feminine, feral, and just a bit unhinged, these are the books you need on your radar.

These are the weird girl horror books that completely got under my skin, involving cannibalism, cults, body horror, and the kind of thoughts you probably shouldn’t admit out loud.

The Books

For everyone that’s always wanted to know who’s really in your Mum’s Sunday Roast but also wants to be devastated emotionally.

If you’ve ever wanted to know what your local princess gets up to after hours, but you also have weird thoughts about eggs.

The ants crawling through your brain might actually have the answer to all your problems if only you can figure out what they’re trying to tell you.

When you can’t cut it in College, then all you have to do is cut the College competition because the best doctors are cutthroat.

Why take the time to talk to men when you could be eating them instead? Because sex is fun, but a good meal is Life changing.

The world might be ending in a catastrophic climate crisis, but you can always join a cult of violent nuns and find salvation, maybe?

Weird girl horror is one of my favourite genres, there’s just something about stories that let women be messy, monstrous, and completely unhinged that makes them impossible to look away from . . . and impossible to stop reading and who doesn’t love that.

If you’ve read any of these, I’d love to know your thoughts, and if you have any recommendations for even more weird girl horror, leave them below. I’m always looking to add to my list, a never ending TBR is a girl’s best friend after all.
